How a Multi-Academy Trust used pulse surveys to create real change

Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust, a family of seven academies in East Birmingham, sought to strengthen employee voice and improve engagement across its large, dispersed workforce. Their challenge was to give staff a regular, anonymous channel to provide feedback and report concerns, a need identified after a key performance indicator relating to voicing work-related concerns scored lower in their annual survey. They partnered with Stribe to pilot its pulse survey and messaging platform to address this.

Using Stribe, the Trust implemented regular pulse surveys on key workplace issues, from choosing wellbeing days to gathering feedback on a new appraisal process. The Stribe platform enabled the People Team to summarize feedback and swiftly act on it, leading to direct outcomes like an additional wellbeing day for staff based on majority vote. This process helped embed a culture of listening and consultation, demonstrating to staff that their voices were valued and could instigate real change, thereby building trust in the system.
