Kaiser Permanente’s Hospice, Palliative Care, Home Health, and Staffing Group struggled to manage more than 300 mobile home care workers due to lack of visibility into employee locations, appointment lengths, mileage reimbursements, and self-reported timesheets—creating scheduling, payroll, and compliance challenges. To address this, Kaiser Permanente partnered with StreetSmart and relaunched a mobile workforce solution consisting of a mobile app and cloud-based administrative software.
StreetSmart implemented mobile timesheets, trip reimbursement with odometer and validation, GPS location services, and a phased change-management and training program for managers, staff, and union partners. The solution increased average daily patient visits from 3.1 to 3.38 (now 3.5), producing roughly $804K annually (reported as an ~$800K revenue boost), reduced overtime expenses by 43%, improved employee policy compliance, and lowered operational and compliance risk.
