Skanska shapes Heming’s 28-story, 410-unit multifamily project with Streetsense

Skanska, a real estate development and construction firm, faced the challenge of designing the interior amenity spaces for their largest US multifamily project to date, Heming, a 28-story building in Tysons. The scale of the project required a grand approach that also felt warm and inviting. They engaged the vendor Streetsense for interior architecture services.

Streetsense implemented a design solution using a language of elliptical arches to unify the spaces, incorporating elements like a dramatic steel stair, sheer drapery, and abundant greenery. The result was a series of striking and memorable amenity spaces that balanced dramatic scale with cozy, textured seating areas. The vendor Streetsense successfully created a signature look for Heming that provided comfort for both daily use and special events.
