Leading Coffee Machine Manufacturer partnered with Streetbees to better understand the purchase journey of prospective espresso machine buyers in the US. Facing low espresso penetration in a market dominated by filter coffee and out-of-home consumption, the company needed a clearer view of both the broader coffee machine market and a niche audience of current and future buyers.
Streetbees used its SBX platform to run a two-phase study with 1,800+ US coffee machine users, espresso machine buyers, and prospective buyers, combining qualitative and quantitative research in just 7 days. The results revealed new insights into purchase drivers, including the lower-than-expected importance of sustainability and the stronger role of in-store experiences, while also identifying older consumers as the most likely next 12-month espresso buyers and providing direction for targeting and messaging.
