Clas Ohlson - Customer Case Study

Clas Ohlson, one of Scandinavia’s and the UK’s largest retail chains with 180 stores and roughly 70 million customer visits per year, wanted to improve its in-store music experience while cutting recurring collection society license fees. To achieve this they partnered with Royal Streaming and Tribe of Noise and turned to Streamit for the in-store audio hardware, selecting Streamit’s plug-and-play SIR120 player to deliver a tailored streaming solution.

The three-way solution combined Royal Streaming’s curated live radio and scheduling, Tribe of Noise’s all-rights-included music catalog to eliminate performance/neighbouring-rights costs, and Streamit’s SIR120 players for reliable, preconfigured streaming and Store-and-Forward playback. As a result Clas Ohlson gained country- and time-specific control over music and ad spots across all stores, improved the customer audio experience and realized significant reductions in recurring licensing fees—demonstrating Streamit’s hardware as a key enabler of a flexible, cost-saving in-store audio system.
