Sunderland AFC launches live streaming in under 1 season with StreamAMG

Sunderland AFC, one of StreamAMG's longest-serving sports clients, sought to expand their digital offering by moving into the live streaming of their league games, as permitted by EFL regulations, to provide a top-quality service to their supporters.

To facilitate this, StreamAMG implemented a bespoke encoding solution featuring custom-built LOLA encoders for signal transmission, comprehensive DRM, and forensic watermarking for anti-piracy. They also deployed the Cloud Matrix platform to power a new mobile video app. The solution was a major success, with the app shooting into the top 10 of the Apple chart upon its launch.
