Mawdsleys, the largest independent pharmaceutical wholesaler in the UK, identified a gap in ambient-controlled pharmaceutical transport (2–8°C and 15–25°C) and needed a solution that met strict Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements while supporting dual business models and rapid scale-up. To underpin a new logistics division launched in 2019, Mawdsleys selected Stream’s cloud-based transport management system for traceability, real‑time data and integrated customer interfaces.

Using Stream’s TMS with robust barcode scanning, Digital Track and Trace and standardised APIs, Mawdsleys built a compliant, integrated operation that delivers day‑one collection/day‑two delivery and provides customers PODs and live visibility (often within 48 hours). The Stream-enabled solution processed up to 2,000 pallets per week within 12 months, achieved GDP approval across two site audits, eliminated outsourcing costs on MPW pallets, improved efficiency and scalability toward ~5,000 pallets/week, and supports an ambitious 120% turnover growth target.
