Recoverlution Uses Stream Chat to Create a Dedicated Online Space for People in Recovery

Recoverlution is a recovery platform created by people with lived experience of addiction, built to give users a safe, dedicated online space for community, wellness, and support. After the pandemic pushed many recovery interactions online, the team needed a way to help users connect in a more personal, reliable, and secure environment. They chose Stream Chat as the chat API to add real-time communication without building the functionality from scratch.

Stream integrated directly into Recoverlution’s platform for 1:1 direct messages, group chats, and in-app communication across web and mobile experiences. The result was a more connected recovery community where users can chat anonymously or through fuller profiles, helping support accountability and peer connection. Stream’s scalable infrastructure also positioned Recoverlution to expand messaging into additional areas like its message board as the platform grows.
