San Francisco Running Company - Customer Case Study

San Francisco Running Company (SFRC), a run specialty retailer in Mill Valley and San Anselmo, wanted to deepen its connection with customers and the local running community while differentiating itself from online retailers. To do that, SFRC turned to Strava and used Strava Clubs to build a more engaging, local experience for runners.

Using Strava, SFRC launched a club in 2016 and created weekly club events to share routes, promote group runs, and post other in-store happenings. The results were strong: the club grew to more than 6,000 members, typical group runs drew about 100 participants, and SFRC organized around 80 events through the club. Strava helped SFRC attract runners from across the Bay Area, the U.S., and beyond, while driving loyalty and store traffic.
