New York Road Runners - Customer Case Study

New York Road Runners, the organization behind the iconic London Marathon, sought to expand its reach and inspire more people to be active by reviving its community engagement efforts. To achieve this, they partnered with Strava to leverage its social platform for athletes and enhance their major events.

Strava implemented a comprehensive solution, providing best-practices guidance, creating embedded routes and dedicated Clubs on its platform, and partnering with creators to share their event experiences. The results were substantial: the London Marathon saw over 34,000 activity uploads from 65% of finishers, with its embedded route achieving an 11.3% engagement rate. For the Ford RideLondon event, 71% of participants uploaded their ride, making it the biggest ride event on Strava that year. This strategic partnership successfully built a massive online and offline community, dramatically increasing engagement and inspiring wider participation.
