A Stratus Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Wanlian Securities Case Study

State-owned securities company achieves continuous availability of its core trading system with the STRATUS ftServer platform

Wanlian Securities is a state-owned brokerage based in Guangzhou with more than 60 outlets across South China that provides retail and institutional trading services. Because its Offer Interface Warehouse (OIW) connects directly to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, regulators and customers demand near‑continuous availability; the company’s previous manual failover took five minutes or more, creating a single point of failure and unacceptable risk of financial loss during outages.

Wanlian evaluated high‑availability options and deployed Stratus ftServer 2800 systems running Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 in its data center. The fault‑tolerant, lockstep architecture with mirrored components and hot‑swappable units provides a single system image with no application changes required. Since 2016 the solution has delivered 99.999% availability with zero application downtime and zero data loss, eliminating SPOFs, meeting CSRC requirements, and reducing operational cost while improving customer confidence.
