Largest Non-Profit Hospital In Hanchuan City Relies On Stratus Everrun For High Availability Of Its Critical Digital Information Systems

Hanchuan People’s Hospital, the city’s largest nonprofit general hospital with two divisions, 1,250 beds and roughly 450,000 outpatient visits annually, faced a critical availability challenge after investing more than ¥10 million in a Windows-based digital information system (HIS, PACS, LIS, RIS). Its initial clustering approach was complex, risked downtime and data loss unacceptable for patient care, and required outside specialists because in‑house IT staff lacked the expertise to manage failover scripts.

The hospital implemented Stratus everRun MX on virtualized Dell and IBM x86 servers (with everRun SplitSite for synchronized mirroring across two data centers). everRun provides continuous operation via full redundancy, automatic data synchronization, and proactive alerts, eliminating cluster complexity. As a result, the hospital reduced third‑party dependence and costs, improved application availability, and sustained smooth, reliable delivery of patient care.
