University of Alaska Southeast - Customer Case Study

The University of Alaska Southeast faced a unique IT challenge: three remote campuses with no connected road system and a mix of computer classrooms, stationary and mobile labs that required intensive, hands‑on management. Imaging hundreds of machines twice a year forced IT staff to visit systems in person, and UAS needed a way to leverage existing hardware and their VMware infrastructure while adding centralized VDI management and Wi‑Fi support. To meet these needs they selected Stratodesk and its NoTouch Desktop solution.

Stratodesk implemented NoTouch Desktop with NoTouch Center and NoTouch OS to embed existing endpoints into the university’s VDI, centrally manage clients via a web console, automate updates and provide reliable Wi‑Fi support for mobile labs. As a result, UAS eliminated the biannual imaging of hundreds of computers, reduced downtime to almost nil (aside from hardware/network issues), and freed IT staff to focus on other projects — all supported by Stratodesk’s responsive technical support.
