Hilfswerk Niederösterreich - Customer Case Study

Hilfswerk Niederösterreich, the largest social aid organization in Lower Austria serving over 25,000 people monthly with 4,000+ employees, faced a fragmented IT estate of more than 450 “fat clients” across 100+ locations and slow ISDN links that made updates and maintenance onerous. To centralize computing via Citrix XenApp terminal servers and avoid wholesale PC replacement, the agency selected Stratodesk and its NoTouch Desktop solution as the endpoint strategy.

Stratodesk implemented NoTouch OS on roughly 230 Thin Clients and repurposed about 190 aging PCs (all managed centrally through the NoTouch Center) connecting to ~40 terminal servers, which delivered immediate stability, simplified centralized updates and concrete cost savings. The Stratodesk deployment cut hardware investment, reduced helpdesk workload (support is handled by just three people), lowered support calls and significantly increased IT efficiency and manageability.
