Gaston County - Customer Case Study

Gaston County, a local government with a mix of old and new endpoints and a Citrix/VMware-based virtual environment, was struggling with a fragmented, time-consuming PC procurement, imaging and patching process that made VDI adoption cost‑prohibitive. To address manageability, governance and endpoint complexity the county turned to Stratodesk and its NoTouch software suite to standardize and manage diverse devices including Raspberry Pi thin clients and repurposed PCs.

Stratodesk upgraded the county’s ViewSonic HDX Pi devices to the SC‑T25 Citrix Ready workspace hub running NoTouch OS, used NoTouch Desktop to repurpose legacy PCs, and centralized control with NoTouch Center. As a result, Gaston County slashed basic workstation hardware costs from about $800–$1,000 to ~$100 per SC‑T25, cut a typical 20‑user deployment from roughly 4 business weeks to 4 business days, and gained unified endpoint management, better security, improved VDI performance and broad device/application compatibility through Stratodesk.
