UniCredit, one of Europe’s leading financial groups with roots back to 1472 and nearly 9,500 branches across 22 countries (160,000 employees), faced a major analytics challenge: SWIFT and market data arrived slowly and existing reporting produced massive, static reports that didn’t allow analysts or managers to surf data, view aggregated KPIs, or react quickly to changing market conditions. The group needed a fast, flexible analysis platform to support sales, marketing and top management decisions.
UBIS partnered with MicroStrategy to build BI4Sales on MicroStrategy 9, delivering the first interactive dashboards in weeks. The solution consolidated heterogeneous sources, provided dynamic web and mobile reports (iPad pilot), and enabled drill-downs, scorecards and real-time KPIs. As a result, analysis time was drastically reduced, teams gained immediate insight into volume, value and market share for products and regions, cross-selling improved, and the platform was rolled out across UniCredit’s networks and leadership, prompting plans for further BI and mobile/cloud adoption.
