Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd, founded in 1989, is one of Malaysia’s largest consumer electronics retailers with over 130 outlets. The company struggled with an enterprise ERP that couldn’t handle its multi-terabyte data and heavy reporting needs—IT had to produce 100+ reports weekly for 150 users, reports were slow or caused system hangs, information was often days old, and suppliers could not access performance data.
Senheng implemented MicroStrategy’s core BI platform (with mobile added later) to provide a scalable, web-based analytics solution and tailored dashboards for intranet and extranet users. The platform delivered self-service reporting, real-time insights and intuitive visualizations, enabling faster, fact-based decisions; Senheng reports improved stability and profitability, sales growth of more than 10% year-on-year, and plans to expand mobile BI for sales and resell licenses to other retailers.
