Seaco, one of the world’s largest marine container leasing companies with around one million TEU and depots in over 120 cities, needed a faster, simpler way to get executive-level insight from its vast SAP BW data. Existing reporting was time-consuming, required specialist SAP knowledge, and didn’t present clear, graphical KPIs or support mobile access for executives on iPads.

Seaco chose MicroStrategy (with VPT consultancy) to implement MicroStrategy Mobile directly on SAP, delivering graphical trend dashboards and a global map of container movements for iPads; the solution went live on time and on budget in early 2012. Executives now get instant headline insights, sales teams use the visual dashboards to drive conversations and target marketing for better fleet utilisation, and Seaco continues to expand the dashboards regionally and by product.
