Novo banco, Lisbon’s largest privately held bank with nearly 10,000 employees and 479 locations in Portugal, faced a surge of real estate assets after the sovereign debt crisis. Managing foreclosed properties was fragmented across laptops, image galleries and spreadsheets, so the bank needed an innovative, finance-focused mobile solution to centralize asset management and enable field teams to work independently.

Working with MicroStrategy, Novo banco developed a Transaction Services mobile app—built in 12 weeks—that combines portfolio views, contacts, agendas, workflows, to‑dos and dashboards, plus a photo widget and in-app transaction and approval features. The app let managers complete deals on the go, cut office visits, save time and money, and “paid for itself on the first day”; Novo banco plans to add photo-based issue reporting and expand information-driven apps.
