Lloydspharmacy, the UK’s largest community pharmacy and part of Celesio AG, dispenses 100 million prescriptions a year across a large retail network. Faced with multiple “versions of the truth,” siloed EPOS and financial data, and a need to extend reporting to Operations and Finance, the company needed a single enterprise repository and faster, more actionable management reporting.

Using the MicroStrategy BI platform, Lloydspharmacy integrated daily feeds from its Cedar E5 financial system and 50,000+ EPOS transactions per day into a central data warehouse, deployed web-based Narrowcast access for field managers, and implemented a Balanced Scorecard with 16 KPIs. The result was a single source of truth, improved data quality, faster and more impactive reporting with drill-down to transaction level, shortened reporting cycles, and better-aligned day-to-day activity with corporate strategy.
