A Strategy Case Study

Preview of the George Mason University Case Study

George Mason University - Customer Case Study

George Mason University, Virginia’s largest public research university, needed to modernize its business intelligence as Oracle Discoverer was being sunset and no longer supported the university’s needs for cost-effective reporting, enrollment management, academic monitoring, and student-success initiatives. To better harness data amid increasing competition for students, faculty, and funding, Mason ran a detailed RFP and selected MicroStrategy as its new BI platform.

To manage the transition, Mason formed a senior-executive Steering Committee for the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) to set direction and guide the migration. The MicroStrategy deployment now powers reporting for admissions, registration, HR, and finance, enabling improved recruitment processes, stronger financial planning, and enhanced student-success analytics that deliver more strategic, cost-effective insights for decision makers.
