Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust - Customer Case Study

Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS) NHS Foundation Trust is a major provider of community health services across Derby City and Derbyshire, serving over one million people with more than 4,500 staff from 200+ sites. Seeking to visualize an “ideal day” for patients and staff, DCHS found its operations hampered by siloed data, limited transparency and delayed reporting, and needed a single, real-time analytics portal to support better population care and operational decisions.

DCHS standardized on MicroStrategy, built an interactive dashboard, ran a four-month pilot and launched in January 2018, with filterable views and drill-downs to locality, team and individual levels. Adoption was strong and users gained real-time visibility, enabling faster, data-driven changes that increased patients seen per day by nearly 10%, full evaluations (contacts) by 5%, and reduced community service waiting times by more than 60%; DCHS is now expanding integrations and planning a mobile rollout.
