3M used its Informed Analytics solution to give health plans and providers population-level visibility into total cost of care and to identify patients at risk for high-cost treatments. The challenge was to deliver that insight in a large multitenant environment with low administrative overhead—allowing multiple tenants to share content while keeping data personalized—and to provide robust end-user self-service without compromising security.
3M chose MicroStrategy, deploying a white‑labeled web interface with pre-built dashboards (inpatient, outpatient, professional, pharmacy, population health and indexed trend analyses), automated administration and multitenant support. The result: interactive reports that run in seconds (one large report dropped from five hours to seven minutes), faster forecasting of care costs, and better identification and proactive management of high‑risk patients to reduce preventable costs.
