Case Study: VER achieves rapid, durable on-field and courtside camera solutions with Stratasys 3D printing

A Stratasys Case Study

Preview of the VER Case Study

VER - Customer Case Study

VER, a video equipment rental and production company, needed to recover a low behind‑home‑plate camera angle lost to ballpark renovations and to meet MLB’s strict on‑field requirements for a rugged, low‑profile housing. Working with broadcast partners including ESPN, VER turned to Stratasys and its Fortus 900mc FDM 3D printer to prototype and validate camera housings and accessories quickly and in‑house.

Using the Stratasys Fortus 900mc, VER produced five design iterations of two camera systems and multiple bracket prototypes (including three rapid iterations in three days), then printed the final housings and protective brackets for deployment—15 brackets were printed for The Amazing Race alone. The 3D‑printed parts proved durable against rain, field‑hose spray and even a drop, enabled MLB and USTA approvals for game use (MLB and US Open), and sped development with overnight “lights‑out” manufacturing and on‑hand physical validation.
