A Stratasys Case Study
Roush Performance, a motorsport aftermarket developer for OEM vehicles like the Ford Mustang and F-150, faced a late-stage design change to the front grill camera location on its F-150 pickup due to an ADAS issue. Because the grille was already in production, redesigning the camera mount was the preferred option over reworking the grille, but traditional injection molding would have required new tooling and threatened the production schedule.
Stratasys helped Roush Performance 3D print the camera mounts using SAF™ technology on the H350™ printer. This approach delivered enough throughput for several thousand parts, cut cycle time by at least 50% to eight weeks, and saved about 35% in cost compared with injection molding, while also allowing Roush to quickly refine the design and avoid additional tooling delays.
