Ricoh - Customer Case Study

Ricoh, a global imaging and production company, faced slow, heavy-to-iterate metal jigs that increased workbench weight, slowed changeovers and contributed to assembly errors and long lead times. To move 3D printing beyond prototyping into manufacturing and production, Ricoh adopted the Stratasys Fortus 900mc 3D Printer.

Using Stratasys 3D printing, Ricoh replaced metal tooling with ultralight, flexible printed jigs and a movable trolley, enabling complex jigs to be produced in hours instead of two weeks. The solution cut the number of tools needed by 40%, eliminated an average of 12 assembly errors per month, shortened new-operator training from one week to two days, and delivered heat‑resistant, anti‑static thermoplastic materials suitable for production.
