Pushing the boundaries of digital dentistry with Stratasys dental 3D printing technology

Dental Designs, a second‑generation, family‑owned dental lab with four locations in Nebraska, set out to scale a technology‑driven digital workflow as intraoral scanning became standard. To improve fit quality, speed and predictability of restorations while handling growing scan volume, they partnered with Stratasys and deployed Stratasys solutions including the Objet 260 Dental, Objet 260 Dental Selection and the J5 DentaJet PolyJet printers.

Using Stratasys PolyJet printers for model production, biocompatible surgical guides and implant/crown‑and‑bridge work — along with the J5 DentaJet’s “High Speed, High Quality” software mode — Dental Designs increased capacity, doubled the printer’s daytime/nighttime usefulness, reduced operator intervention and improved turnaround for rush jobs. The Stratasys equipment helped the lab build a portfolio of roughly 30 printers, become “the place to send your scan,” and deliver better fits and faster, more predictable restorations without expanding staff.
