Case Study: Ivivi Technologies cuts clinical-trial device production time by 5–6 weeks with Stratasys Objet 3D printing

A Stratasys Case Study

Preview of the Ivivi Technologies Case Study

Objet 3D Printers Rapidly Produce Medical Devices for Clinical Trials

Ivivi Technologies, a publicly traded medical technology company that develops non-invasive electrotherapies, faced long, costly delays producing small batches of clinical-trial devices because prototypes were outsourced and often required multiple revisions. To bring engineering, development and production in-house, Ivivi selected Stratasys’ Objet 3D printing technology, specifically the Objet Eden350, for its speed, accuracy, light weight and smooth, durable prints.

Ivivi integrated the Stratasys Objet Eden350 into its workflow, producing precise device housings, customized jigs and fast-turn prototypes ready for electronics assembly—cutting the clinical-trial device manufacturing timeline by five to six weeks and achieving a positive return on investment in less than one year. The Stratasys solution also sped iteration (enabling overnight design changes), strengthened distributor relationships through rapid modifications, and set the company up to consider upgrading to the multi‑material Objet500.
