New England Institute of Technology - Customer Case Study

The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), with a 3,000‑student campus and an active mechanical engineering program, faced the challenge of engaging students early in product design and helping them bridge CAD work to real-world fit and function. To boost creativity and hands‑on learning, the department adopted the Stratasys Dimension 3D printer as a primary teaching tool.

Stratasys’ Dimension solution produced durable ABS prototypes that students could quickly print, test and iterate, logging more than 2,000 hours of use and enabling freshmen to present a 3D model within the first nine weeks. The result was noticeably higher engagement—students use the lab in their free time, the department’s four stations and the printer are continuously busy, and cross‑disciplinary projects (from car parts to architectural models) demonstrate measurable increases in creativity, commitment and practical design testing.
