A Stratasys Case Study
The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) faced a funding shortfall to establish an additive manufacturing lab and sought to provide its students with industry-relevant experience. The school partnered with vendor Stratasys, utilizing their F190CR and F370CR 3D printers along with FDM TPU 92A elastomer material, to address the challenge of preparing students for careers in modern manufacturing and supporting local businesses.
Stratasys provided a solution that enabled the rapid printing of large, complex parts with soluble support, allowing the lab to become operational immediately. The partnership also included the Stratasys Certification Program, which helped standardize student training. The results were a successful conduit between industry and education, providing students with resume-worthy project experience and giving consortium member companies confidence in hiring graduates with certified, comprehensive additive manufacturing knowledge.
