Marcopolo - Customer Case Study

Marcopolo, a Brazilian leader in bus body manufacturing, needed a faster and more cost-effective way to develop prototypes and production parts for engineering, maintenance, and assembly. To reduce reliance on imported injection-molded and thermoformed components, the company turned to Stratasys FDM 3D printers, including the Dimension, Fortus 900, and F170.

Stratasys’ additive manufacturing solution enabled Marcopolo to produce everything from validation prototypes and jigs to replacement parts and even final-use components, using materials like ABS and polycarbonate. In the past year alone, Marcopolo fulfilled more than 221 print requests totaling about 1,000 parts, and the technology helped accelerate the launch of a new bus generation by roughly one year while also improving uptime with on-demand spare parts and supporting an internal plan for an industrial-scale printing center.
