Liberty Electronics - Customer Case Study

Liberty Electronics faced rising production time and tooling costs while needing affordable, heat-resistant prototypes and low-pressure molds for hotmelt materials. To address this, they partnered with Stratasys and adopted FDM technology—deploying a Fortus 3D printer and working with ABS and ULTEM thermoplastics—to produce in-house molds and prototypes.

Stratasys’ solution, combined with 3D scanning and in-house design, delivered ready-to-use parts and ULTEM molds that withstand casting temperatures up to 200 °C, replacing aluminum tooling and lowering material and production costs. The shift improved internal workflows and customer dialogue, boosted credibility, opened new business opportunities, and made tooling more environmentally friendly thanks to the Fortus 3D printing approach.
