Case Study: Latécoère achieves 95% faster prototyping with Stratasys Fortus 450mc 3D printing

A Stratasys Case Study

Preview of the Latécoère Case Study

Latecoere Uses 3D Printing for Transformational Manufacturing Results

Latécoère, the Toulouse-based aerospace structures and wiring-systems manufacturer, needed faster, more flexible prototyping than CNC machining could provide. To support its R&D and Innovation Center and accelerate design validation, Latécoère invested in a Stratasys Fortus 450mc production 3D printer and used ULTEM 9085 resin for durable, lightweight prototypes.

Using the Stratasys solution, Latécoère produced a fully functional prototype in two days—cutting lead times by 95%—printed a camera case that was 50% lighter than its metal counterpart, and reduced tool production costs by about 40%. Stratasys’ Fortus 450mc enabled faster design iterations, improved client demonstrations, and opened the path to 3D-printed production parts for future aircraft programs.
