Lamborghini Speeds Production Workflow With 3D Printed Production Parts

Lamborghini, the Italian supercar manufacturer, needed high-strength, complex production and prototype parts on very tight timelines for racing and new-model development. To meet durability and speed requirements they turned to Stratasys and its FDM technology, deploying systems including the Dimension 1200es and Fortus production machines (Fortus 360mc and Fortus 400mc).

Stratasys helped Lamborghini bring prototyping and production in-house using FDM printing and materials such as ULTEM 9085 and PC‑ABS to produce aerodynamic profiles, engine conduits and interior components. The solution eliminated costly outsourcing, optimized lead times, reduced costs, and gave Lamborghini greater control of projects—delivering track-ready, high-performance parts and measurable workflow and cost improvements after installations in 2007, 2010 and 2013.
