Joe Gibbs Racing wins two races with Stratasys 3D printing

Joe Gibbs Racing, a top NASCAR team, faced the challenge of having only three days between races to customize their cars with specialized instruments for each unique track. They partnered with Stratasys, utilizing their 3D printing technology, to rapidly design and produce custom gauges that provided drivers with critical real-time data not available through telemetry.

The solution implemented by Stratasys was a modular dashboard with a 3D-printed insert, which was quickly redesigned and built using Stratasys polycarbonate and Digital ABS materials between races. This allowed for speedy customization of parts like transmission temperature gauges and brake cooling fan switches. The result was that Joe Gibbs Racing won key races at demanding tracks like Sonoma and Daytona, attributing part of their success to the real-time information enabled by Stratasys 3D printing.
