A Stratasys Case Study
Ident’M, a France‑based dental laboratory in Saint‑Étienne, faced recurring quality and speed problems after moving from plaster to 3D‑printed models—about half of prints showed deformation and production times were lengthy. To address the need for higher precision, faster output and ease of use, Ident’M turned to Stratasys and its J5 DentaJet™ 3D printer.
Stratasys’ J5 DentaJet (PolyJet) delivered layers as fine as 18 microns and enabled multi‑material, mixed‑tray printing that replaced three dedicated printers, with a 360° rotating build tray and 24/7 reliability. As a result, Ident’M now runs the J5 around 20 hours a day, producing about 1,000 models a month, achieving up to five times more parts per tray versus competitors, and reducing patient appointments from as many as five to typically two—boosting throughput, accuracy and customer satisfaction.
