How Valiant TMS slashed lead time and cost for a difficult to source end-use elastomeric automotive component

Valiant TMS, a Windsor, Ontario-based automation company, needed a better way to produce difficult-to-source rubber-like automotive components used in tooling and end-use applications. Working with Stratasys, the team explored additive manufacturing on the Origin® DLP printer with elastomeric materials, especially for parts that required a quality surface finish, accuracy, and durability.

Stratasys helped Valiant TMS implement P3™ Stretch 80 powered by BASF Forward AM, with some parts also using Dura56 for added rigidity. The new 3D printed solution cut lead time from 4–6 weeks to just 3 days for 24 components and reduced cost by 150% compared with traditional molded polyurethane parts, while also improving accuracy and enabling reliable in-house production.
