Case Study: optiMEAS cuts prototyping time by up to 95% and halves costs with Stratasys F-Series 3D Printer

A Stratasys Case Study

How optiMEAS utilizes the Stratasys F-Series 3D printer to create customized, holistic IoT solutions

optiMEAS, a German industrial digitalization specialist working with customers like Bosch and Siemens, needed to speed up and de-risk production of small but critical housing and front-panel prototypes. Traditional metal prototyping was slow and expensive, causing weeks or months of delay; optiMEAS sought an office-friendly, industrial-grade solution that delivered dimensional accuracy, repeatability and access to durable materials — and selected the Stratasys F-Series 3D Printer to meet those needs.

Stratasys supplied the F-Series FDM 3D printer (used alongside GrabCAD Print software), enabling optiMEAS to print industrial-grade polymer prototypes in-house around the clock. The change cut lead times for small parts from about a month to a single day (up to 95% time savings), halved prototyping costs versus metal alternatives, improved repeatability and material performance, and opened the possibility of moving some parts from prototyping to series production.
