Hansgrohe Saves 80% on Prototyping Costs with the Neo450 Stereolithography 3D Printer

Hansgrohe AG, a leading German manufacturer of bathroom and kitchen sanitary ware, faced slow and expensive product development cycles. Their R&D team, led by Swen Wieland, struggled with time-consuming CNC machining for prototypes, which created bottlenecks and limited design iteration. To address this challenge, they turned to vendor Stratasys for a solution.

Stratasys implemented its Neo450 stereolithography 3D printer, which used Somos WaterShed Black resin to produce large, highly accurate functional prototypes and jigs. This solution allowed Hansgrohe to create complex parts like rain showerheads overnight instead of waiting three weeks. The result was an 80% reduction in prototyping costs, superior accuracy for testing, and a significantly accelerated development process for the customer.
