Dobson Ortho Lab, a family-owned orthodontics lab in Gainesville, Georgia, needed a reliable way to produce highly accurate, custom dental appliances at scale. As one of the largest providers of tooth positioners in the US, the lab’s challenge was ensuring consistent quality and precision for every unique case while maintaining a fast, efficient workflow.

Stratasys provided the solution with J5 DentaJet and J5 DentaJet XL dental 3D printers, along with GrabCAD Print software and Dental Priority support. The PolyJet workflow helped Dobson Ortho Lab simplify post-processing, reduce material handling, and improve throughput with larger build platforms that can produce 35–40 models per run; the J5 DentaJet XL also offers about 40% more model capacity in a footprint about 33% smaller than the legacy Eden260 printers. The result was a more efficient, mission-critical production setup with the accuracy and reliability needed to deliver “second to none” appliances.
