Dimension 3D Printer Helps Koenigsegg Develop Supercar with A Torque of 920Nm

Koenigsegg, the high-performance supercar manufacturer, faced slow, costly prototyping because it outsourced 3D printing for the hundreds of carbon-fiber parts in each car. To speed development and reduce administration, Koenigsegg adopted an on-site Dimension SST 1200es 3D Printer from Stratasys.

Stratasys’s Dimension printer let Koenigsegg rapidly produce high-density plastic prototypes and even end-use parts for testing engine components, fixtures and tooling, cutting turnaround from weeks to days. The in-house solution accelerated development by about 20%, reduced costs by roughly 40%, and helped engineers refine designs—contributing to the Agera’s performance (920 Nm at 5,000 rpm)—while enabling greater creativity and efficiency.
