Case Study: Priority Designs achieves rapid, full-color pruner prototyping with the Stratasys J55 3D Printer

A Stratasys Case Study

Preview of the Priority Designs Case Study

Design company out of Columbus, Priority Designs, utilizes 3D printing to help clients at every stage of the product development process

Priority Designs, a product development firm in Columbus, Ohio, was tasked by Corona Tools to develop a pruner with an adjustable "Flex Dial" to solve poor ergonomic fit. The project demanded many iterations, multiple colors, clear components and applied graphics, resulting in a multi‑week, labor‑intensive prototyping process. To speed up and improve prototyping, Priority Designs installed a Stratasys J55 3D Printer.

With the Stratasys J55, Priority Designs produced high‑fidelity, full‑color, multimaterial prototypes (including VeroClear) directly from CAD in less than a day, removing the need for sanding, hand‑painting and decals. The J55 enabled faster design verification, reduced active labor and cut lead times from multi‑week cycles to overnight turnaround, accelerating decisions and lowering costs for the pruner project.
