Dash CAE Slashes Lead Times by 83% and Builds Fully Functional Parts and Production Tools for Formula One

Dash CAE, an Oxford-based supplier of high-end vehicle parts to UK OEMs, faced rising outsourcing costs and increasing customer demands for shorter lead times and parts that could survive harsh functional testing. To address this, Dash CAE turned to Stratasys’ FDM® technology and invested in Fortus® 3D Production System(s) to bring prototyping and low-volume production in-house.

Using Stratasys Fortus systems and engineering materials (PC, ULTEM™ 9085, ABSplus™), Dash CAE developed durable end-use parts and carbon-fiber tooling—printing items like a Tesla diffuser floor and molds for composite prepregs. The Stratasys solution cut lead times by 83%, enabled near-constant printer use for rapid, lower-cost tooling and parts production, and supported Dash CAE’s growth with OEM and motorsport customers.
