Composite 3D Printing FDM Use Case | Gosiger Manufacturing

Gosiger, a leading machine tool distributor and manufacturing systems provider, faced a parts-handling challenge on a two-turret lathe where two halves of a finished hose clamp would fall away and be lost to the chip conveyor. A traditional, machine-mounted catcher would be costly and would restrict the lower turret’s travel. To solve this, Gosiger used Stratasys 3D printing technology—printing the catcher on an F370®CR composite printer in FDM® Nylon‑CF10—to create a compact, wear‑resistant, turret‑mounted device.

Using Stratasys FDM technology, Gosiger printed a catcher that mounts to the lower turret, catches cut parts, and rotates to dump them into the machine’s finished-parts chute. The Stratasys-produced Nylon‑CF10 part resists wear and machining fluids, preserves full lower-turret functionality, and enables the main spindle to prepare the next cut as parts are cleared—resulting in a smaller footprint and measurable improvements in cycle efficiency and tool utilization.
