Clarkson College Develops Unique 3D Printing Education Program Powered by Stratasys Digital Anatomy Technology

Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska, sought to expand access to clinical 3D printing education and patient-specific surgical models beyond traditional hospital hubs. To build a Medical 3D Printing and Training Center and a certification program for radiologic technologists, Clarkson College needed technology that could produce anatomically realistic, biomechanically accurate models for pre-surgical planning and patient education—so they turned to Stratasys and its Digital Anatomy technology.

Using Stratasys Digital Anatomy printers and materials (e.g., Vero series and BoneMatrix), Clarkson College launched a hands-on curriculum and a 3D print lab serving students, surgeons, hospital partners and patients worldwide. The Stratasys-powered program enabled surgeons to rehearse procedures, helped reduce operating-room time, anesthesia and costs, improved patient consent and compliance, and provided patient-specific models for clinical, educational and legal applications.
