A Stratasys Case Study
The CHU de Brest, a university hospital in France, sought to improve the quality of its pre-surgical planning. Their existing single-material 3D printing technology and outsourced models fell short of the required precision and realism for complex procedures. To address this challenge, the hospital implemented the multi-material, multi-color J5 MediJet 3D printer from Stratasys.
The Stratasys solution provided surgeons with highly accurate, patient-specific anatomic models that offered millimetric precision and a realistic haptic feeling, particularly for soft tissues. This improved preparation significantly reduced surgical-related risks and operation times. Furthermore, the in-house Stratasys capability allowed the hospital to better manage increasing volumes, improve training, and enhance patient education, positioning CHU de Brest as a key player in medical innovation.
