A Stratasys Case Study
CALLUM, a UK-based automotive design house founded by former Jaguar design director Ian Callum, faced the challenge of retrofitting the interior of a rare C-X75 stunt car for a client without the high costs and long lead times of conventional tooling and composite manufacturing. To meet the customer's requirements for a bespoke, high-quality interior while managing budgets, CALLUM partnered with additive manufacturing vendor Stratasys to find a better solution.
By leveraging Stratasys's FDM and SAF 3D printing technologies, CALLUM was able to design and produce complex, lightweight, and structurally robust components, such as custom mounting boxes for a premium audio system and intricate dashboard mounts. The Stratasys solution provided significant cost savings for the low-volume production run, drastically reduced manufacturing time, and delivered the design flexibility needed to create a one-of-a-kind vehicle without compromising on performance or quality.
