Accuracy and Design Freedom Expedite Medical Devices Innovation

TryTec, a small manufacturing company in Japan, wanted to diversify beyond steel civil engineering into medical devices as the steel market was expected to decline. After doctors at Nagasaki University identified a need, the team struggled to create accurate prototypes with injection molding and with 3D printing from several providers, which could not meet the required shape and precision.

TryTec turned to Stratasys and its Origin One P3 DLP platform, which enabled the company to successfully develop its first medical device, Opyls, an endoscopic cleaning device. With Stratasys engineering support and support-free printing, TryTec was able to move into testing and certification, overcoming the prototyping barriers that had blocked progress with other methods.
