A Stratasys Case Study
EANT-GmbH, a German engineering firm specializing in automation and industrial services, was asked to redesign heavy, welded stainless-steel antenna support mounts to be lighter and faster to produce. Generative design produced an organic geometry that was impractical to machine or weld, so EANT-GmbH turned to additive manufacturing using Stratasys equipment, selecting the Stratasys F900 3D printer and FDM Nylon 12CF material (with a high-capacity T40 tip) to realize the complex shape.
Stratasys’ solution—printing the mount in Nylon 12CF on the F900 with the T40 tip—delivered the required strength while cutting weight and lead time: the 3D-printed mount reduced weight by 38%, production time by 75%, and production cost by 20%. EANT-GmbH noted the T40 tip’s higher material-deposition rate was critical to achieving the accelerated print times and overall cost savings enabled by the Stratasys solution.
