How the AccelerateAM service program improves uptime and efficiency

Lockheed Martin Space Systems, which uses both metal and Stratasys polymer 3D printers to produce prototypes and flight‑rated hardware, needed to minimize costly equipment downtime and improve production uptime. To address rising expectations for availability and speed in its additive manufacturing operations, Lockheed Martin partnered with Stratasys and leveraged their long-standing relationship (including co‑development of Antero 840CN03) to find a service solution.

Stratasys implemented AccelerateAM—offered as a self‑service option with on‑site training, dedicated support, and a direct support line—so Lockheed Martin’s technicians could diagnose and resolve issues faster and perform preventive maintenance. The AccelerateAM program cut guaranteed problem‑resolution time from five days to one–two days, kept any machine down time to 24–48 hours, and helped boost AM part production by 28% year‑over‑year while using fewer printers, driven by faster response, improved uptime, and technician upskilling.
